Las Champas!

My little prepa boys looked so cute in their outfits! Las Champas is a big celebration of the different parts of Honduras. They sell tickets to get in, and there is tons of cultural food to buy. It's a fundraiser that pretty much all the schools in Honduras have.

Ashley and Kadian excited about the evening

The twins braiding Claudia's hair. They had worked so hard to get everything ready for braiding. They had their own little spot in the island section.

But unfortunately, it started pouring after we had been there for about ten minutes. Although we got pretty soaked, the show went on as we ran from booth to booth.

The different booths all had different themes that represented different parts of Honduras.

We tried a lot of typical Honduran foods--yum!

Crazy corn. Covered in mayo and cheese, this corn was unlike any of the Nebraska or Colorado corn I have had before.

Kadian being serenaded by the beautiful music.

The dancing continued inside. These are the first graders doing their dance.

One of my prepa girls, Ester. So cute :)

Dancing with machetes

It was so fun to see all the different grades dance!

First the guys had the machetes and then the girls did.

This couple totally store the stage for me. They looked so happy--like they were in love!

My braids for the night.

Cia, Nelly, and Kadian looking gorgeous.
